Top 5 CQB Airsoft Guns

CQB stands for close quarters battles, which are some of the most exciting games in the world of airsoft. CQB games can take place indoors or outdoors and are often set up inside converted warehouses. They are more fast-paced than normal games and the combat takes place in a closer proximity to the opponents. FPS and range is not a huge concern in CQB, with most players preferring to hit high rates of fire instead. CQB setups tend to have a high bunker density with narrow corridors and tight corners. This makes smaller weapons better suited to the environment. There are many excellent CQB guns out there, and here we've decided on our top 5.

1. Echo 1 E90-TR - This replica from Echo 1 is based on the FN P90, a personal defense weapon manufactured in Belgium since 1990. It features both metal and polymer construction (the real steel P90 contains a lot of polymer), and includes an integrated rail. It fires around 380FPS using.2g BBs and comes packaged with two 68 round magazines and an 8.4V battery. At just 20" long and with a light weight this gun is perfect for fast-paced CQB games. The P90 is a fairly unique airsoft gun as well with not many replicas being produced.


2. ICS MP5A64 - The MP5 is the classic CQB weapon for good reason. It is made mostly out of polymer which keeps the weight down, and it is a smaller rifle as well. ICS has long been known for manufacturing excellent MP5s and this particular one is perfect for CQB. This gun features a retractable stock and is only 20" long with it retracted. That's less than two feet and makes for an extremely wieldy airsoft gun. The receivers are made from lightweight ABS as well which adds to the maneuverability of the gun's user. The MP5A64 fires around 360FPS using.2g BBs and comes with two 250 round magazines.


3. ICS M4 CQB Pistol - This gun from ICS is an M4 specifically modified for CQB situations. The gun is only 17" long making it one of the shortest full sized AEGs on the market. It can easily be fired with one hand and is essentially a pistol despite having the same internals as an ICS M4. It features metal receivers and outer barrel and is loaded with tactical rails. Overall it is a very cool looking AEG that is unlike anything else available. It is equipped with the ICS split gearbox design that allows for quick and easy spring swaps to change the gun's FPS on the fly. The gearbox is also fitted with steel bushings. The M4 CQB Pistol comes packaged with two 450 round magazines and fires around 330FPs using.2g BBs.


4. Jing Gong M4 Stubby Killer - The Stubby Killer M4 is almost certainly the most hilarious airsoft gun to be released in recent years, other than the Thunder Maul which was also released by Jing Gong. The Stubby Killer M4 is essentially an M16, complete with full stock and integrated rails, shrunk down to a tiny CQB size. It comes in at 22" long, which doesn't seem that short until you consider that it has a full stock. The gun is high quality with full metal construction and Jing Gong internals. It fires around 340FPS using.2g BBs and comes packaged with a 9.6V battery and a 190 round magazine.


5. SRC AK-47 - This AK-47 from SRC is no ordinary assault rifle. It has been shortened and fitted with tactical attachments to make it the ultimate CQB weapon. This gun is equipped with integrated rails, a removable folding vertical grip, a folding stock and a flashlight with its own mount. The body features anodized aluminum receivers with steel accessories and the steel magazine holds 600 rounds. It fires around 330FPS using.2g BBs. It comes with a high torque motor and the gearbox is equipped with 6mm ball bearing bushings. The gun comes in at only 20" with the stock folded and is one of the best CQB AK variants on the market.

These AEGs are all made specifically for CQB circumstances and excel in that area. They can be used outdoors or at longer ranges effectively as well, but CQB is where they will really outgun the competition. All these options are reliable and great value for money, and will function for a long time if maintained properly.
